Reuse, Play, Connect – for our planet and our community
Join us on Saturday 13th of November 2021 for a Neighbourhood Garage Sale & Play Street in Alberton.
Neighbourhood Garage Sale & Play Street
Date: Saturday November 13, 2021
Time: 9AM – 1PM
Location: Sussex St & Prince St, Alberton
This Spring, we are joining the National Garage Sale Trail and the 1000 Play Streets Project – on the same day!
Fully supported by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, The Pear is closing off not one but two streets this year for neighbours to sell their second-hand and handmade things and for kids to play in the street as they please! A great way to extend the life of pre-loved items, and find the ultimate pre-loved gems, while our kids have ample room to safely ride bikes, scooters, play hopscotch, create chalk art and engage in many other imaginative play activities.
The National Garage Sale Trail is an Australia wide event consisting of online, community and individual garage sales. Over 10,000 garage sales will be happening across the nation in November. ‘Choose to reuse’ is the initiative behind the campaign.
The 1000 Play Streets project is an initiative by Play Australia and is “a movement for Australians to reclaim their residential streets as places for neighbours of all ages to connect and play, to create stronger and healthier communities.”
Would you like to volunteer at this neighbourhood event?
We love it when neighbours come together to pull events like this off, and we’d love some help. So if you have some spare time on November 13, get in touch!
